Light, airy, colourful, playful, simple, and antique are my favourite design words of the season. What else is Springtime for, but crisp colours and brilliant textiles that tell old stories and hang quietly on the wall? See how the light fixtures below add simple elegance to the room without saying a word.

These spaces make me feel like Spring…and wherever they are in the World, I hope the birds are singing and the sun is shining warmly through the crack in the old stained glass window :)

Live, love, light!

In the garden..

It’s the time of year for flowers and spirits to blossom! As the sun shines brighter & hotter, patio sets emerge from the shed, plants gain new life, and days get longer. It’s the time of year we slowly move from inside to outside, and it’s my favourite transitional season :)

I’m just starting to make a plan for our little garden! With our wedding coming up, and about one million friends and family coming to visit, we want our patio to really rock this summer! In addition to patio furniture, beautiful plants, and a fruitful veggie garden…we want the lighting to create the ‘garden party’ atmosphere. Cozy, romantic, soft, picnic vibes will be emanating from the trees and shining down on backyard gatherings! I’ve been collecting ideas, and I’m really excited to create our own little garden oasis :)

Bring your space to life with some of these ideas! Have your own little secret garden you’d like to share? Send me pictures  :)

Live, love, light!

From Maja

Here are a few more (professional) photos from Maja and Dave’s Wedding! I love looking back…and getting excited for the next one! The twinkle lights and burlap back drop behind the head table were my two favourite parts! Rustic romance :)

Thanks for your kind words and sharing the memories with me Maja & Dave…also for the very last chocolate peanut butter cupcake that you hand delivered to my door days later :)

Thank you very much for all your insight and creativity during the reception planning process. I felt completely at ease knowing you would confidently transform a small and poorly lit room into cozy and warm atmosphere that was enjoyed by our guests the entire night.

Whistler Wedding!

This weekend I had the honour of being a part of an amazing wedding celebration! Maja and Dave are two true Whistler locals, who fully embrace everything our small town offers. Keeping in spirit with their love for nature, skiing, and casual beauty, we worked together to come up with the perfect mix of rustic West Coast chic for their wedding day…and the result was AMAZING!

Wooden rounds, string lights, burlap, twigs, mason jars, candles and paper lanterns were the name of this game! One of my favourite projects was creating the big burlap wall behind the head table. Adorned with lights and organza, this wall really pulled the focus of the room to right where it should be – on the happy bride & groom!

All of the photos I have taken so far were in daylight, because their dance party is just getting started! Can’t wait to see images of the romantic lighting – with more than 300 candles and 500 twinkle lights – and the astonishing upstairs lounge area!

What an amazing weekend bedazzling a wedding with lights and decor…I think I could get used to doing this all the time :)

Up early with a coffee and more new music to sadly tear everything down! This weekend really made me feel like I was living up to my “LIVE, LOVE, LIGHT” mantra…maybe it was the positivity and laid back nature of the bride and groom that made me sit back and enjoy the experience. Above all, I hope their day was perfectly full of love and light :)

Oh, so many wonderful things come along with the exhilarating smell of fresh Spring air! Wonderful things such as Pop-up Vintage Markets featuring my lamps alongside other local artisans and intriguing vintage finds!! I am very excited to be part of the Re-Fresh Market at the end of April. I’m looking forward to putting together a unique collection of extra-vintage inspired lamps for the event, and introducing them to new faces!

Events like this brighten up my own little World and spark my passion to create. Re-Fresh is a one day event, so make sure you come by and visit! Hosted at Coast Railway Heritage Park along the Sea to Sky Highway, we will be all smiles and love that day :)

Love Your Lamp Lighting Workshop #1

On Wednesday night I got to gather with 10 brilliant Whistler women to get our crafting on! With fabric flying and creatives thoughts a stirring, each lamp shade took on the personality and spirit of its new owner. It was so inspiring and awesome to see these women at work, helping each other, and diving into a totally new experience.

I can’t wait until phase two!! Lamp bases to match the spectacular shades! Teaching and helping people discover new skills is an extremely satisfying feeling…I could get used to spreading a little creativity around our mountain town :)

Here are a few of the one million pictures I took! From the construction phase to the ‘I found a new home!’ phase….live, love, light!
